Hello,
This is my first post on the chicken coop plans website! I am so excited to take you on this journey of teaching you how to build your very own chicken coop!
Throughout this blog I will be teaching you how to build a chicken coop. I will be giving you tips and tricks on how to select the correct materials, how to chose the correct location and ultimatly, how to pick the right types of chickens to put in your hen house.
If you have any questions throughout this process, please do not hesitate to ask below in the comments section. I look forward to taking you on this journey with me!
Choosing The Right Size For Your Chicken Coop
If you are looking to build your very first chicken coop then you must realize that the most important step in the entire process is selecting the appropriate size. To do this you must first figure out what types of chickens that you are going to have.
If you have chickens that require a lot of space, then you could actually get away with a smaller hen house simply because the chickens will be spending most of their time out on the range.
You will also need to consider how many chickens you are going to have in your hen house. If you only want one or two eggs a day then you really only need to get your hands on some small chicken coop plans because you will only need two or three chickens to put out that much production when it comes to eggs.
Selecting The Right Type
There are tons of different types of chicken coops that you can choose from in terms of design. For example, there are leaning designs, there are designs that will actually allow you to put in a concrete base and there are even mobile chicken coops that you take with you if you happen to be renting your home.
You will also need to choose between recycled materials and brand new materials. If you are on a budget, or even if you are concerned with the environment, you can quickly assemble a full fledged hen house just using recycled materials. I highly recommend that you spend the time to research whether or not you want to approach the process this way. You can cut your costs by almost half just by simply doing this one thing.
Conclusion
If you are ready to build your very first chicken coop, then I am so excited to have you! We will be covering so much more material as the time goes on. I will try my best to cover as much as I can throughout this process, certainly don't wait for me for too long (I do have a job and a a wife and kid) but I am hoping that I will be able to update this blog on a regular basis.
